Puligny - Les Folatieres 1992 L. Jadot

6/95. Acquired from Beaune Dec-94 for $26 (imported for $34 net).
This P-M Premier Cru is from Jadot's own 'Heritiers' Domaine.
COLOR: Medium golden-yellow.
NOSE: Rich and enticing. More flowery than fruity, with tones of wood in the background.
TASTE: A bit closed at first, but opened up as the wine warmed up. An elegant taste, though on the austere side. No rich fruity taste and neither any hints of honey. Buttery, fat texture adds to the pleasant impression in the mouth.
LENGTH: Surprisingly short aftertaste.
TEXTURE & BALANCE: Too much wood for my taste. Good acidity and alcohol, but not enough complexity.
OVERALL: Excellent wine, though definitely not a Chevalier-Montrachet. Probably still too young. The Drouhin's '92 Clos des Mouches is just about $3-$4 more expensive and is IMO a much better white (B).
MARK: 17/20.aaaaaaaaBUY MORE? Yes.
