Barolo 'Bussia' 1990 Prunotto

9/98. Bought in local auction, Mar-97 for $55.
Accompanied a hearty paella dish of a Saturday lunch with my in-lows.
COLOR: Pretty dark Bordeaux-style color with thin clearing around the rim. Noticeable sediment in the bottle.
NOSE: Ripe cherries and flowery aromas with complex earthy bouquet. Hot, forward and extremely enticing nose.
TASTE: Very tasty and mouthfilling. Abundant fruit, plenty of winyness, rich and vibrant. Initially some hard tannins that softened up completely in about half an hour. Real good grip, round and elegant. Very yielding on the palate, yet has something in reserve.
LENGTH: Medium long and pleasant aftertaste.
TEXTURE & BALANCE: Full bodied wine. Quite viscous with very noticeable 'legs' on the glass. Plenty of fruit, good acidity excellent structure and balance.
OVERALL: Superb! Really good now with many more years of giving pleasure ahead.
MARK: 18/20.aaaaaaaaBUY MORE? Yes.
