Yarden - Cabernet Sauvignon 1993 Golan Wineries

7/2001. Bought locally, Sep-96 for $17.
One of my last bottles of this classic example of good Israeli wine.
The flagship brand from the best large Israeli winery. 1993 being the best vintage in Israel since the fabled 1985 and 1990.
COLOR: Medium dark ruby red. Only slight clearing towards the rim.
NOSE: Deep clean nose of ripe black fruit, flowery scent and interesting earthy elements. Completely harmonized with the lightly oaky backdrop.
TASTE: Smooth, winey and reasonably complex. Excellent ripe fruit with soft acidity and receding tannins. Superbly tasty.
LENGTH: Medium, very pleasant aftertaste.
TEXTURE & BALANCE: Medium-bodied fully mature Israeli Cabernet. Excellent ripe fruit, depth of flavors and plenty of winyness. This wine is perfectly balanced, completely harmonious, and is at its absolute best now.
OVERALL: Very Fine. One of the best wines Golan ever made.
MARK: 18/20.BUY MORE? Yes.
