Volnay 'Clos de la Bousse d'Or' 1996 Dom. Pousse d'Or

4/05. Bought in London, Aug-01 for $42.
One of the loveliest Volnay 1er Cru vineyards and a monopole of the Dom. de la Pousse d'Or. This is my very first 1996 Burgundy opened for the Seder (Passover Eve) feast.
COLOR: Medium dark ruby. Hardly any clearing around the rim.
NOSE: Expressively fruity with very nice 'Bourgogne Nose' as background. Clean, elegant and enticing.
TASTE: Even better than the nose. Fruity flavors abound. Concentrated yet delicate. Ripe, winey and very tasty.
LENGTH: Medium-long and very pleasant aftertaste.
TEXTURE & BALANCE: Medium bodied yet rich with flavors. excellent balance with enough muscles to last for years, though it is perfectly drinkable now.
OVERALL: Superb. A fine example of what a delicate first-class Volnay can be..
MARK: 18.5/20.BUY MORE? Yes.
